I’m with Evan F. On this one...

Posted by Allan R. on Jul 26th 2019

The scabbard looks nice and definitely completes the look of Longclaw. However, the leather is definitely not as high quality as I expected for the price. I was hoping for that new leather smell and not so much shiny plastic looking leather. The metal accents are nice and look great. As stated in another review, the top decorative brass piece is held by one rivet and rotates freely back and forth. The welds on the frame are not very uniform and seem rushed like a mass produced piece would. My biggest complaint however is the leather running up and down the scabbard. It is loose from the metal frame. The best way to describe this is the scabbard is more of a framed leather sleeve than an enclosed scabbard which Is what I was expecting.

Not up the quality of the swords

Posted by Evan F. on May 23rd 2019

These guys knows swords...leather not so much. This looks very nice from arm's length and will make a fine display, but it is nowhere near the quality of the swords here. The most obvious issue is the brass piece at the throat is attached by a single rivet in the center, so it can rotate, and even when not rotated it doesn't really cover the brass coming up the sides or match the profile of the sword hilt. Just look at the picture of the sheathed sword and you can see the poor fit and rotation. The leather also doesn't appear to be true grain leather, and for the price it absolutely should be. If this were fifty or seventy five bucks, sure whatever, but for a couple hundred, it should be as well made as the sword it's meant to hold. For completionists only.

    Complements the sword well

Posted by Andrew on Feb 22nd 2018

Very nice quality item, looks great, and Longclaw looks great in it. Really enhances the display hanging on the wall right alongside the sword. I did have a minor issue with a manufacturer defect - Valyrian Steel shipped out a new scabbard the same day they received the returned item and I got my replacement 2 business days later. Great service.
